  • James Russell, D.V.M -
    Dr. Russell is a 1986 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. He grew up in Pickett County Tennessee attending Tennessee Technological University as an undergraduate. He has been in practice at Jackson Animal Clinic since 1989. He is married to Dr. Nichols and they have three children (Ryan, Haley and Hannah), one dog, Buckey, and a cat, Harry. His hobbies include doing activities with the church youth, minor construction projects, attending sporting events, playing basketball, boating and fishing. Dr. Russell enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, surgery and preventative care. He has a special interest in various orthopedic procedures.
  • Cindy Schmidt, D.V.M. -
    Dr. Schmidt has been a part of the Jackson community since 1991. She completed her DVM from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and joined Jackson Animal Clinic soon after graduation. Dr. Schmidt earned her bachelors degree in Nursing from Loma Linda University in 1983. While practicing small animal medicine, she has special interest in exotic and avian medicine. She is married and has two adult sons. When not working, Dr. Schmidt enjoys backpacking, bicycling, reading, and knitting.
  • Lee Nichols, D.V.M. -
    Dr. Lee Nichols was born and raised in Jackson Tennessee. Her parents, Burruss and Mary Alice, are still very active in the community. Dr. Nichols received her Bachelor of Science degree in animal Science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1984 and graduated form the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She is married to Dr. Russell and they have three children, Ryan, Haley, and Hannah. They also have two pets: a Golden Retriever named Buckey, and a cat named Harry. Dr. Nichols is an active member of Northside United Methodist Church. Her hobbies include going to the lake and UT ball games. At work, Dr. Nichols enjoys soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.
  • Richard Steed D.V.M. -
    Dr. Steed is a 1986 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been in private practice for twenty-six years and has been associated with JAC/NMAH since 2005. He and his wife reside in McNairy County and enjoy spending time on their farm caring for their horses. He enjoys motorcycle riding. Dr. Steed is a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bethel springs. Dr. Steed enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, especially exploratory surgery and referral cases.
  • Sandra Fleming, D.V.M. -
    Dr. Fleming grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science at Auburn University prior to her enrollment in veterinary school. After earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a small animal internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Sandy Springs, Georgia before entering private practice. She has lived in Jackson since 2012 and spent two years as a emergency veterinarian at Jackson Pet Emergency Clinic and another two years as a research veterinarian. She and her husband have twins who keep them very busy. In her spare time, she enjoys trips to the mountains, completing home decor projects, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers. She is passionate about preventative medicine, internal medicine, and critical care.
  • Dr.
    Kendall Davis -

    Dr. Davis was born and raised in Jackson, TN, and she graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. While completing her Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture with an Animal Science concentration from the University of Tennessee at Martin, she worked part-time at Jackson Animal Clinic as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. She is married to Jeremiah, and they have a chocolate Lab named Lexi and two horses; they look forward to adding more animals in the future. They enjoy riding razors, going to the river, and spending time with family and friends. She believes that God has led her to help those who cannot help themselves such as our furry companions. Dr. Davis’s professional interests include preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine.
